Chappell and her Daddy

Hallelujah!

Chappell slept from 10:30 pm until 5:20 am-- and then after eating went back to sleep until 9:30. It's finally happening! She woke up so happy and rested!

And yes, I put her to sleep in her Christmas pajamas for two reasons. 1) I love them, and 2) they were clean.

Introducing Cousin Mary Parker!

Mary Parker was born last Tuesday and is exactly 6 weeks younger than Chaps! Mary Parker is Bryant and Danielle's new addition (Reed's brother)-- so cute. She was 7 pounds, 5 ounces and the same length as Chaps. Only 4 ounces lighter... I guess they're related.
I can't wait for the new cousins to finally meet!

My new home...

I finally made the long journey to Starbucks with baby. It's been a pretty successful trip so far, and I think it may become a daily outing! Currently, Chaps is sprawled across my lap as I type... and strangers keep coming over to take a peek.
As far as baby milestones go, I forgot to mention that we switched Chappell over to formula last weekend. I only lasted 6 weeks with the breastfeeding... let's just say it's harder than it looks and I give women so much credit to keep it going for the long haul.
Chappell turned 7 weeks yesterday... and I'm still in my maternity jeans. Yeesh. I tried on my pre pregnancy jeans today again and we still have about an inch between the button and the hole. I'm joining a gym tonight. Time to get serious on that front.

Long time no blog

Hello. I don't know if anyone still reads this, but I figured I'd do a brief update. We don't have the internet at the beach house, and making time to take the baby and computer to Starbucks has been impossible so far. Here's what we've been up to...

Last week we:
1) Went to visit Lauren and cute Avery-- seriously the most adorable thing ever!
2) Friday Chappell had her hips examined once again, and we just found out today that she's just fine! Awesome news. If her hips were dislocated she would've needed to wear a brace for up to 6 weeks which would've complicated diaper changes - among many other things.
3) Went to Pensacola for the first time!

We got to Pensacola Friday night and ate a nice dinner with mom and dad. The drama began Saturday morning when I woke up with a horrible stomach bug... MC's engagement party was Saturday night. We made a brief appearance and then had to leave. It was such a bummer... we'd been looking forward to the party for a long time and Chappell was hangin' with the grandparents. Supposed to be our first night out -- without a curfew anyways! In the middle of the night, mom came down with it... then Sunday we had big scare when Chappell threw up. We all freaked out... as time went on, she didn't show any other symptoms, and our theory is : dad gagged her with the bottle accidentally, causing projectile spit up. Since we were still sick, Colleen Rogers (our SAVIOR) spent the night with us and watched Chappell since Reed had to return to Grayton for work today. We're going back to the beach house tonight.

Eventful weekend for us!

Friday we drive up to Birmingham to move out our furniture. It's coming along!

Moving Day Approaches!

Well tomorrow's the day. We have our house all packed up except our big furniture. More about that later...

Chappell's 1 month visit went extremely well! She weighs 10.1 ounces (wayyy more than we thought) and is 23 inches long! She ranked 90th percentile in her length, and 75th percentile in weight and head size. So we might have a tall little gal on our hands! She said that Chappell was "bright eyed," "alert" and smiling! We thought her smiles were from gas... ha. Apparently not. But today I can tell for sure she's having social smiles. It's the cutest thing ever. Everything was wonderful and I'm so sad to leave our pediatrician here. She's incredible... but we meet her new doctor on Tuesday in Destin - and I'm sure she's great, too.

So, about the house. We signed a contract on Tuesday night-- so exciting! We close February 13th and consider ourselves very fortunate considering the market's condition. For Sale By Owner!! We'll be back in the Ham on January 31st to assist the movers with our big furniture, and we'll be out! This means we'll buy in Destin probably around March or April.

Please excuse my grammar - I'm writing when I should be packing!
Tonight is CELINE DION WITH AUNTIE SMITH! We can't wait... pump and dump tonight! :)

Update

So things have been going pretty well around here. Extremely busy, but well all da same. I can't believe we are moving on Friday. Our house is all packed up - everything except the furniture. Days and nights consist of packing and playing with Chappell.
Today I had my 6 week check up (went a little early) - and it was so nice to hear, "see you for your annual!" She said my incision looked great. The scary part - I got weighed... I've lost around 30 pounds already, but still have about 20 to go? Scary! Let's just say I ate whatever I wanted! Now that I can start exercising, I hope it will come off easily...
Tomorrow Chappell has her 1 month appointment, even though it is actually her 5 week birthday. Chap's much chubbier these days and is starting to smile. She's so cute!
I will write more after her appointment tomorrow and update some pictures.

Packing it up...

So today our realtor is coming to officially list the house. I guess 'for sale by owner' didn't work. No surprise there.
We've been pretty busy taking care of Chappell so the blog has had to suffer a little bit. Today we're going to start packing. 10 days till the big move! The reality of leaving everything familiar and all of my friends is eased by the excitement of moving home...
