Just hangin' in my PJs

Some from today in the bouncy seat.
I need a new camera! A nice one... hint hint, R.

Happy Friday!

It’s been a week since my last post... I’ve been a little lazy because the internet comes and goes so much. I can’t complain since I am stealing the connection from one of our neighbors, “Lydia55.” Not much has happened this week, except for signing the contract on our new house! We’re supposed to close in the next few weeks. We can’t wait!
A little bad news on that front… we’ve found a new home for Murphy. The new neighborhood doesn’t allow fences and we won’t have much of a yard, so we felt it was only fair to find him a new home. Luckily, he will have much more fun living with Brooke’s mom in Union Springs. She was looking for a beagle and has lots of land for him to run around… so it’s perfect! I feel bad… we all know Murphy was my doing, and since then Reed’s formed quite a bond w/ the little guy.
Tonight we are going to Ozark. Reed’s parents are throwing an engagement party for one of his childhood friends. Chappell will be meeting her cousin Mary Parker for the first time, and we are really excited! I will take lots of pics and will post soon.
Love,
H

2921 Leland Road - Gone!

At 11:00 o'clock today, we closed on our house in Birmingham! We are so excited and thankful to have sold our house... especially in this market and current economic situation. With this chapter in our life officially closed, we are ready to make our next move down here in SOWAL. Ha - it's so weird here... besides Destin, there aren't really cities... it's like, "hi, I live on 30-A..." - So, you live on a road? Weird.
Anywho, we think we've found a new house. Actually, I think we're signing a contract on Monday or Tuesday... basically whenever the funds show up in our bank account. Don't want to sign anything till we see da money!
The house is in a new development off of HWY. 98. Half of the neighborhood is finished, and they're still building the other half. Reed describes the new house as the complete opposite of our old house. Which is FINE with us. We're ready for something new, something spacious, and something with amenities. The new neighborhood has a gym and a pool - so exciting! It's two stories, and brand spanking new. Totally clean for my babe.
I'm just glad to be out of the Paisley/Ward house. Don't want Chappell choking on a dust bunny!
Below you can see the gym and pool house.

Hallelujah, again?

So, after my post documenting Chappell's first full night of sleep, she went back to her old tricks... middle-O'-the-night feedings. SO, at the risk of speaking to soon, last night was the second night in a row she slept from 10:00pm until 6:30am...

Most would say I shouldn't complain, but the problem is, I'm not used to sleeping a full night anymore. So, last night I didn't sleep much at all! I really shouldn't complain - I'll get used to sleeping again. It's just that when I wake up, I get scared to go back to sleep because I know it will be so much worse if she wakes up and I have to get up again!

BUT... I think I'm finally figuring this whole sleep schedule/pattern thing out... they say for infants, "sleep begets sleep." This seems to be true. The more she naps, the better she sleeps at night. I used to be scared if she napped too long or too often she wouldn't be able to sleep later on. Babies are interesting creatures...

Worth noting... (maybe not for you, but for me), Chappell is fully aware of who her parents are now. If she's not in the right mood, she might not be willing to hang with a stranger... a few weeks ago, if you had two arms - she didn't seem to care. She's become particularly attached to me, which makes sense. We spend all day together! After Reed gets home from work I go to the gym at Watercolor - the second she hears my voice when I get home... it's like, "see ya, dad!"

She's smiling all the time... on the verge of laughing!

PS: Sorry for the boring details, but I plan on using this as a reference for when things happened in her babyhood... an online babybook of sorts?

Walks on da Beach

One of Chappy's favorite things to do is walk around Grayton Beach. She gets really alert and seems to take it all in. It's still weird that I get to look at all of this incredible scenery every day!
I'm really glad Chappell enjoys our walks because it helps me in my battle against the bulge. By the way, we're working on that... I've lost 5 pounds in the past week. I'm like one of those obese people on The Biggest Loser-- it seems crazy to lose that much in a week... but when you have a lot to lose, it's possible!
Yes, I'm back on the crazy soup diet - but before you judge - it's working!!

Welcome Back!

Well today is a very very good day for me (probably not for Chaps)!
Today, I tried once again to get the internet working at the beach house, and finally - success! I guessed the password on a security enabled wireless network (that sounds so dorky), and guessed right! I guess you aren't being too sneaky when your password is "graytonbeach." Anyways, I've never been so happy! Except maybe when Chappell was born... or when I got married? Heh... I'm hilarious.
I am so excited to have something to do while Chappell naps. I hate TV, so this really is the best news ever! I'm about to start postin'!

Please see below.
Chappell loves Publix.

2 Month Appointment!

Chappell is officially 2 months old! Actually, she will be 9 weeks tomorrow... I can't believe how fast she is growing. At her appointment yesterday we found out she is 11 pounds, 7 ounces. She is still 75th percentile in her weight, and 90th in length and head size. I really like her new doctor, Dr. Sprenkle - she says everything looks great!
We've had issues with her formula lately, but as of late last week... I think we've figured it out. Last week I had her tested for a milk allergy (which consisted WAITING for a poop and then driving the diaper back to Destin)... thankfully she's not allergic like her mom. It seems as though she just has a sensitive stomach... maybe like her dad?

Anyways she's loving her expensive formula, Nutramigen... which runs us about 9 to 10 bucks a CAN. Whatever keeps her happy is fine w/ us. Happy baby = sleeping parents.

Here's Chaps at her appointment, looking nice and chubby. Before her shots!!

Pasties at the Beach

This past weekend we went to Pensacola to celebrate Smith's 23rd birthday. We ate dinner at Global Grill Friday night and it was delish!
Saturday we came back to Grayton to set up Reed's office and relax a little in our new hometown. Saturday night we went w/ Chaps to Hurricane Oyster Bar... ate oysters (Reed got me started on the RAW ones) and drank beer. It was so much fun. Good thing it's only half a mile from the house or we would've been irresponsible parents. Sunday we went to a late brunch at the Red Bar.
We had a great weekend... and even tested out the Baby Bijourn!

All moved out

So we're all moved out of 2921 Leland Road. So sad/happy - all at the same time. We drove up to Bham on Friday afternoon... arrived a little after 10, and packed till almost 2 am! We left Grayton around 4, but stopped in Ozark to drop little Chappell off with Emily and Buddy for the night. It was her first night away from us - and I hated every minute of it! I knew she would be fine, but I still didn't like it one bit. It would've been nearly impossible to get the house packed up with her there. Saturday morning the movers came and packed up the house. It was so weird to see the house completely empty. We're all set to close February 13th. Time to find a new house!
