She started Mother's Morning (day?) Out on Monday. I'm not sure if she really enjoys it yet. It is from 9:30 to 1:15. She seems to be really tired without her morning nap. Plus we are going through some major teething around here. And if you think the molars are bad... just wait for the canines. I've consulted with a few toddla moms and they all seem to agree... quite enthusiastically, actually.
Conclusion: Canines are rough.
Until this most recent teething episode, Chappell slept until at least 7:20-7:40 (with few exceptions) since she was 4 months old. For the last (almost) two weeks, she's woken up around 5:45-6 am.
NOT COOL.
I've always known that I require some serious sleep... but WOW... the past two weeks have thrown me for a loop. I feel like I have a newborn.
Chappell is actually sick right now with a cold, and surprisingly slept until 7:10 today.
My mother assures me that as soon as she cuts those bastard teeth (sorry, it's driving me to curse) she will go back to her normal sleeping patterns.
And this promise is keeping.me.alive... along with Starbucks coffee.
Chappy seems to be talking a lot more.
And she is really, really good at puzzles! I bought her two puzzles about a month ago, and when she got the hang of it, I started buying more. Now, she can put together a puzzle on her first try! These puzzles are all labeled 2 years + and 3 years +.
I call her the Puzzlemaster!
Here is another thing Chappell enjoys: Sorting.
Reed's mom taught preschool for years; she has her masters... and told me that children don't start doing this until around 3.
Chappell does it all of the time.
She'll dive into a basket, or drawer full of STUFF - whatever... and group similar objects together.
This picture is not the best example, but we took it this morning on Reed's phone. In Pensacola, she went through one of my mom's big drawers and lined up beauty supplies 15 feet across the bathroom. If you look at this picture, you get the idea: brushes with brushes, bottles with bottles, flat bottles with flat bottles... check it out. She's usually much more organized in her "sorting," but hey - it was early.
*The more I look at it, this really isn't a great example. Not her best work, ladies!
My little baby Einstein.
We have a super busy few days coming up.
This weekend we have two couples staying with us - some of my favorite pledge sistas and their respective men.
Saturday one of our other pledge sisters is getting married here in the Gump.
Sunday, Reed, Chappy and I head to Atlanta to stay with Smith and celebrate my daddy's birthday.
Monday night we are going to see the Braves play the Washington Nationals. Anyone who knows my family knows that we are fans of all DC teams. So... that should be a lot of fun.
Tuesday morning we head back to Montgomery.
Wednesday I have to go out of town for a meeting in the AM and then I'm hosting a BY SMITH sample sale at my house in the evening.
WOW.
Wish me luck. I'm worn out already.
